Right ! Recently Nutanix has announced VMware vsphere 5.5 end of life support the reason behind is VMware has natively declared EOF list of products as per published product matrix.
AOS 5.10, and subsequent maintenance releases, will be the last supported Upgrade family for VMware vSphere 5.5, which includes vSphere Hypervisor ESXi 5.5 and vCenter Server 5.5.

Nutanix strives to deliver the best possible experience to all customers and is aligning with VMware’s support lifecycle to ensure that production deployments have the best support possible.
Nutanix recommends that customers on vSphere 5.5 upgrade to vSphere 6.x prior to VMware’s End of Technical Guidance of vSphere 5.5 on 2020/09/19 as per VMware official document VMware’s Lifecycle Product Matrix
